Professional Development Plan

I have set out some goals for myself for the future in order to continue with my professional practice.

I work at a pub as a day job and so will be saving up to get myself my driving license and a car.
I want to prioritise getting myself a car as I feel there are many opportunities I miss out on due to the fact that I can't drive. Also, as I soon came to realise in past projects, cars are sometimes a necessity when it comes to transporting crew and equipment and can make a shoot a whole lot easier.
I plan to get my license within the next year, hopefully! Until then I have access to a camera and editing software, but unfortunately no sound equipment or software. I will continue to make short films for the next year to build up more of a portfolio and add to my show reel. I have some friends in bands that I can help make music videos for, which would be nice to have on my showreel, as it's not something I have done before.
I also have two friends that are both beginning to set up their own promotional based businesses and they have both asked me to be part of their teams and help out on the filming and editing side of things.
This would be a good experience, though with little to no pay, as it will help me further develop skills in terms of working in a team, working under others and reaching set goals.

After I get my license, I then plan to save up for sound equipment and a high quality camera. With a higher quality camera I could charge more for my services in terms of freelance work.
Though I will be living with my parents for the next year or so, in order to save money in regards to rent etc., I hope to move back to plymouth as there seem to be a lot of opportunities in the area.

This is just a small basic plan I have in place, with achievable targets. My main aim over the next year is to just make small, low budget films mostly for my portfolio whilst juggling a day job. Reaching financial stability via filmmaking is hopefully something I will achieve in the future, but for now I am saving up for equipment to do this to the best of my ability.
