Visiting lecturers

I didn't get to come to all the visiting lecturers sessions, but I did get to see:

Amanda Bluglass - I found Amanda's session very stimulating and enjoyed her work a lot. It was interesting and encouraging to see an industry professional using funding sites to get their films made and encouraged me not to be afraid to simply ask people to help fund projects. Also inspiring to see how well her film had been received after submitting it into a film festival.

Ed Turner - Screenwriting isn't something I am best experienced at so it was nice to have someone come in and go through the processes of translating a film from paper onto screen. It was a very interesting way to look at film making and not something I had done before.

Bob and Joe - I liked Bob and Joe's work and it was encouraging to see they continued working on their film after they left the college. I had seen an older version of their film prior to their visit, and I was impressed with the progression of it. It showed that it is well worth spending the time improving your work to the standard you want to achieve.

Robert Young - It was great to have a seasoned professional come in and chat to us about his work. I had seen one of Robert Young's films "Fierce Creatures" when I was younger, so it was great to meet the man behind the film.

Sergei Kozin - Sergei's session was very informative. I have dabbled in things like after effects, but we'd never really been taught things like using a green screen so it was good to get some information on that. He also demonstrated how easy certain things can be and how quick you can turn them around if you have a good knowledge of what you are doing.
